bilby I wouldn't add garden variety here. It's humdrum everyday quotidian basic, but not in a way that compares to a nicer option. It's not like there's a "royal arboretum variety" or "meticulously maintained greenhouse variety" that we could compare it to. I like it though, it's a curious term.
