If Martin's goal was to convince that swath of 'convinceable' voters who will make the difference between his government surviving an election and being decimated, he probably accomplished it; the opinion polls and an eventual election will tell.
If you have a tautological view that any experimental evidence of rationality limits is prima facie proof that the experiment was flawed, I can't convince you and you are not a convinceable scientist.
For the ones who are skeptical but convinceable, one might think that publishing a series of papers, all with consistent data supporting your model, would eventually win them over.
I think Short-Ride is convinceable, but that is exactly the threat it will take.
