A dawnzer is another word for lamp, if you are 5 years old and have confused some of the words from the 'Star Spangled Banner'. "Oh say can you see? By the DAWNZER lee light". Taken from "Ramona the Pest" by Beverly Cleary. Ramona asks her father, "Why don't you turn on the dawnzer? It gives off a lee light."

There are tons of mondegreen lists, yes! I can't think of any off the top of my head though.
lpartain, thanks for posting this! I was a big fan of Beverly Cleary books years and years ago but have forgotten most of them. Maybe I'll read them again someday!
