Nonsense

I've lost a word. Several months ago, I was reading a tart little essay online (the online counterpart of a British publication, but
*not* my beloved *LRB*, of that I'm pretty sure), and the author referred to something as the usual sort of academic lost word!. In
context, it clearly meant nonsense or twaddle or codswallop, but was not any of those, because I am quite familiar with those words. It was
a marvelously evocative word by sound; it was not Latinate (as I recall). I immediately thought, "What a wonderful word! I must make
note and use as suitable." I nosed around on the Web for it, and found a mention somewhere that it was a striking example of very rapid
recent adoption.
And then--here's a stern lesson in writing things down!--I lost it.
I wrote to AskOxford, and they did no better than to refer me to a page of their standard synonyms (Thanks a bunch!).
Does this ring any bells? A fairly recent term for "nonsense"--that is, 1960s or after, I think--word; more than 1 syllable; rather like
"codswallop" in its non-Latinity but newer...?
So, while that lost word waits to pounce once again upon an astonished world, let's put all the twaddle and codswallop here--some one of us, some time, has to stumble across the lost one.
Update: I found the lost lamb! "Bafflegab."
...but others are free to add their own favorite words meaning rubbish or nonsense.
