“Hur skönt ler solen, huru vänligt hoppar 1 dess milda stråle ifrån gren till gren,” is older Swedish where hur has an extra u on it; huru = hur = how.
My Translation: "How delightfully smiles the sun, how kindly its soothing beam leaps from branch to branch"
A "u" or an "o" like that at the end of a word to a Swede of "the year -66" suggests a plural, but it may also be a dative, but here the word is an adverb, and adverbs can only have -t nowadays, used similarly to the English -ly, i.e. it is not on all adverbs.
