Guess what! There is a dictionary that specifically covers the obscure English words that Guy Davenport and a few other modernist writers have used and revivified. It is the Oxter English Dictionary, ISBN 0871969629, whose very name gets you to ask what an :"oxter" is. When you find out, you will laugh -- and probably buy this dictionary, which, unlike the OxFORD English Dictionary (even in its photo-reduced incarnation), definitely can be carried around in one of your oxters.
