  • I've spent the last few days as liaison for a visiting pro football (soccer) team. The big game was tonight, towards the end of which we were sitting around trying to draft a media release.

Team Media Lady: What do you think the crowd was tonight?

    Me: Half-pissed. It's a payweek Thursday.

TML: No, I mean how many?

    Me: 2,400.

    TML: My guess is 2,600.

Me: As you can see, no turnstiles. We can split the difference at 2,500.

Other guy: You can't put 2,500. It's too round. It'll sound like you made it up.

TML: *thinks a bit* So, roughly, 2,547.

Other guy: *nods* Yeah, I reckon.
