The Brooklyn accent is sometimes too thick, even for me to understand what the hell people are trying to say. I knew a cleaning lady a while back who said "brorrel" when refering to cooking but I couldn't discern whether she meant "boil" or "broil". I eventually resolved to ignore her altogether, which worked.
