marky Gir is a fictitious animated robot. He is the costar of the immensely popular cartoon series 'Invader Zim' on Nickelodeon which used to kick off the 'Nick at Nite' portion of the channel starting at 6PM. He is the assistant to Zim (an alien) and is often causing mayhem rather than actually helping. This was a conspiracy that was propogated by Zim's Leaders on his home planet as a practical joke on him. He was supposed to go to Earth to Invade our planet, but really his race has no interest in our planet and just sent him here to play a joke on him. Zim doesn't know this and thinks his mission is still important.
Gir is Insane. He has become somewhat of a cult internet sensation amongst younger people who used to watch him religiously until the show was abruptly cancelled due to creative differences with the creator Jhonen Vasquez. Sadly , the show hasn't resurfaced yet but some have been trying to revive it to for many years now. There's even a robotics group dedicated to building a real life version of Gir called 'Project: GIR'.
