  • Levolution Levolution is the thermodynamically spontaneous process of creating a new, more ordered, naturally-occurring, dissipative system by changing a set of existing dissipative systems into a composite of complementary parts. Natural Selection is the mechanism behind the change required of lower level systems to become the complementary parts. The environment of the differentiating parts is the whole on the higher level of organization. Natural Selection leads to adaptive Evolutionary differentiation, which leads to Levolution of successively higher levels. Levolution has created about 23 levels of organization over 14 billion years.

  • I'm calling it. Congratulations, this is officially the most hideous sentence ever written on Wordnik:

"Levolution Levolution is the thermodynamically spontaneous process of creating a new, more ordered, naturally-occurring, dissipative system by changing a set of existing dissipative systems into a composite of complementary parts."

  • Is this on the level (levol)? Or is it elocution gone loco? I much prefer Teilhard's noosphere view of orthogenesis. It was so unorthodox to become becoming!
