  • I don't know if I'd call it a pretty word, but it's not as bad as it sounds. Still, the thought of a colon repair can be eeew-worthy, don't you think?

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go discuss this loudly in the lunch room.

    Wait...we don't have a lunch room.

  • Oh. Well, OK, I'm glad the "eeew!" was a happy "eeew!" of curiosity.

  • I didn't say I didn't like these words - I guess it will be a list of cringeworthy, but interesting words.

  • Your colleagues are participating in what I believe is known as an 'organ recital'.

  • Also, I just want to point out that listing weird words that happen to have gross definitions is not the same thing as loudly discussing, in the lunch room at work, the finer points of giving birth. This is something I would not do, but apparently my coworkers are not above it.

  • Sorry trivet... But why is the idea of someone having their colon fixed surgically gross? Wouldn't it be grosser to not have it fixed? (I'm just curious why this word elicits an eew more than some of the many other, grosser ones on the site.)

You have to admit it's a pretty word though. Don't you think? Like apoplexy?

  • Eeeew!

I think I'm going to have to make a list of things people like chained_bear have posted on wordie that make me say Eeeew!

  • OED: "The operation of fixing part of the colon to the abdominal wall."

    Worse than it sounds...
