hernesheir Jingle weed is cited as a common name for Sida acuta in Harvard University's Journal of the Arnold Arboretum, Vol. 68, 1987, p.125. Another name is common wireweed. It is a weed that frequents pastures and disturbed areas throughout the southern US states that border the Gulf of Mexico, and it has been introduced in Hawaii.
