This is an expression/word used in my family to describe someone sitting and grousing and, in general, accomplishing nothing. Not sure where it came from.

Found the word at World Wide Words. Defined as a state of depression or low spirits. Suggested it might be a variation on 16th century MULLIEGRUMS.
