GPCR, the neurotensin type 1 receptor (NTS1), has been expressed in good yields in a folded form as a functionally competent, ligand binding receptor in E. coli.
We also found that a precursor of neurotensin / neuromedin N (NTS), as well as UTS2B, a peptide with potent vasoconstrictor activity, are both highly enriched in HVC and could represent novel peptides used by HVC neurons themselves.
