Century Dictionary and Cyclopedia
- n. A genus of polythalamic or multilocular foraminifers, typical of the Nodosariidæ. The cells are thrown out from the primitive spherule in linear series so as to form a shell composed of numerous chambers arranged in a straight or curved line. They occur fossil in Chalk, Tertiary, and recent formations.
