1. n. A procumbent South American shrub, Krameria triandra, yielding a medicinal root. Its foliage is silver-gray with silky hairs, and it bears star-like lake-colored flowers singly in the upper axils. See Krameria and ratany-root.
2. n. A medicinal substance procured from this plant: same as ratany-root.
