  1. Of a bright-brown color; bay; chestnut. Of those five [unicorns' horns] which Scaliger beheld, though one [was] spadiceous, or of a light red, and two inclining to red, yet was there not any of this complexion among them. Sir T. Browne, Vulg. Err., iii. 23.
  2. In botany, bearing or having the nature of a spadix. See petaloideous, endogen, and Monocotyledones. Also spadicious.
