A method of divination by a sheep's shoulder-blade. Spatulamancy (called in Scotland Slinneanch [divination]) by reading the speal bone or the blade bone of a shoulder of mutton well scraped. Ribton-Turner, Vagrants and Vagrancy, p. 78.
