john Hey jennarenn, if you let me know what school (johnatwordie.org), I'll contact a sysadmin there and see if they'll lift the blockade. Lots of admins are sympathetic if you ask nice.
You could also try going through a proxy. And you can see specific pages by using Gooble's cache. Oct 12, 2007
chained_bear Probably because of me and all my fucking bad words. Oct 12, 2007
skipvia My guess is that it was blocked because it was engaging, creative, and instructive. Can't have THAT in our schools. Oct 12, 2007
uselessness What the hey ho? Did they block it as a result of you coming here all the time, or just as a matter of happenstance? Either way, major suckage. Oct 12, 2007

trivet And if you haven't read The 13 Clocks yet, go read it - right now! Shoo! Oct 12, 2007
chained_bear Oh, yes, rabbits scream. It's terrible. Terrible. I hate that sound. I don't ever want to hear it again. Oct 12, 2007
reesetee Not to worry, uselessness. I'm a Thurber fan. Already got it after trivet's reference. :-) Oct 11, 2007
uselessness For what it's worth, I didn't write that description. The Todal is a monster in James Thurber's book The 13 Clocks. I've never read it (and had never heard of it), but after trivet listed it I got curious about the "blob of glup" thing and did a little Googling. The description I posted comes from this page, which really just summarizes all the fragmented descriptions that Thurber scattered throughout the book. Apparently. I'm not that imaginative. ;-) Oct 11, 2007

uselessness A Todal is a creature that looks like a blob of glup that makes a sound like rabbits screaming and smells like an old unopened room. It is made of lip and feels as if it has been dead for a dozen days. It moves about like monkeys and shadows and cannot be killed. It was created as an agent of the devil to smite those who do evil but not to their fullest extent. Oct 11, 2007
