  • I think that's sound reasoning, however I'm supposing the debate happens in the economic earnings, spending ability, etc. In, for example, micro-financing and the work of Muhammad Yunus, some women are gaining both new economic and new political power for the first time as they start getting wealth--thus changing the dynamics of the culture. Obviously for the better.

  • I think I understand the theory's underlying purpose and validity, esp. as it relates to microloans and that sort of thing. I'm taking issue with the definition's phrasing--or maybe with the viewpoint that it's a new realization among some people that women are key members of society. *sigh*
