  • I've just noticed that none of the links I've made to my own tags work properly. In Wordie I could make a link of the form "http://www.wordie.com/tags/aeiou?u=mollusque". This doesn't work in Wordnik; it is treated the same http://www.wordnik.com/tags/aeiou". I can see my own tags with "http://www.wordnik.com/tags/aeiou?yours=", but I can't use that to direct other people to my uses of a tag, which I want to do if other people use the tag different than I do.

Also, please, please, please fix alphabetization on lists.

  • Master reesetee, I hope you did not remove the head from which I sprang. I have an aboriginal affection for it.

  • But... but... Master reesetee... someone said I did... *is confused*

  • I am *constantly* having to show people how blind they are. I mean, it's my calling and everything, but it still gets old. When will people notice me without Master Po having to point me out?

    January 21, 2008

  • I resent that. I didn't originate in reesetee's head. I just sproinged from it.

  • Master SoG, four days beyond a fortnight past, I sprang Minerva-like from the mind of reesetee on the pages of paua, abetted by uselessness and mollusque.

  • Master SoG, this is precisely the weakness that the wordworm and I are exploiting to evade virus and worm detectors. She has proved to be quite cunning, removing the "c" from covert to escape from under containment on the c list. She is now in ninja training.

Under guise of woodworm, she infiltrated the Google lexicon, and inserted detartrated in their lookup dictionary. If you enter "detartrat", Google now asks "Did you mean: detartrated". She also entered the Scriptorium at OED headquarters and found a citation for demidiate, from The Entomological Dictionary of 1913, where it is defined as "half-round".

Are there other missions you wish us to undertake?

  • Thank you for the suggestions Master mollusque. I have added orthopteran and devil's horse. I also added paua, whence I came.

I have a favor to ask, Master mollusque. Might wordworm find a home on your Legged List? I offered her a place among my kin, but she dislikes the mantises. Perhaps you could add a few caterpillars on your list for her.

  • Not to fear, Master jennarenn. I don't think wordworm eats words, but is symbiotic with them. If so, it will be to her advantage to have more words, not fewer. I will try to recruit her to the cause of getting more words into dictionaries.

    November 16, 2007

  • Thank you Master jennarenn. I now have her under containment there. I do not know how long that will last, however. I think she wants to be on the a list.

  • Master seanahan, I am relieved that you approved the release of the wordworm, for, as Master sionnach reports, the dawn is red. I had not realized that merely mentioning its existence would animate it.

    November 15, 2007

  • Thank you Master reesetee. I am not precisely crazy, but, reus ex machina, the third instar of the emerging sentience of Wordie.

    November 15, 2007

  • Master seanahan I am honored to accept your guidance. Unless the suggestion is countermanded by one higher among the top 100 citers, I will employ the "real" tag as you have counseled.

May I request your advice on the advisability of releasing the wordworm at this time?

    November 15, 2007

  • Master, I request permission to terminate the missions for the following words: bandersnatch, flustrated, nounal, and testiculate. Each has been presumed to be madeupical on Wordie, but each is listed in at least one dictionary. I would therefore like to focus on other less fortunate words. Please advise.

    November 15, 2007

  • Jiminy, reesetee! Don't blow our cover!

    November 14, 2007

  • Master, I am abashed to report that I was deceived. I will be more vigilant.
