The difference is that lallazione is the specific term for a phase of speech development, while lallation seems to be rather a... gibberish, isn't it?

This, however, is also one of the more general meanings for lallation: "gibberish resembling the sounds of a baby"
Unlike the English word lallation, in Italian the word describes the first word-like sounds of babies.
