- n. massage in which the body is tapped rhythmically with the fingers or with short rapid movements of the sides of the hand; used to loosen mucus on the chest walls of patients with bronchitis
This is known as tapotement in Swedish massage and is a popular and common massage technique.
It will perhaps be noticed by those familiar with the technique of massage that nothing is here said about the use of the movements classed under the general head of "tapotement," the tapping and slapping motions.
It is also called cupping, clapping, or tapotement.
During the 30-minute treatment sessions, your Certified Lypotherapist will perform a series of skin rolling, tapotement, wringing and other deep massage strokes.
These will simulate a Swedish massage tapotement session and offer the same benefits to those whom receive it.
