uselessness Now that, I don't know. I've never heard it said like that but I suppose if anyone can take liberties with spelling, it's Walt Kelly. I'm from Florida (much farther south than Pensacola) but in the many times I've heard that city name spoken, it's always been like Coca Cola. May 2, 2007
oroboros Kelly actually spelled it Pensacoola in the lyric, so there's no typo in my rendering. Do you know if Pensacola is pronounced more like the 'oo' sound by the locals? I've always heard it rhyme with cola as in Coca Cola. May 2, 2007
