- Francis II 1768-1835. Last Holy Roman emperor (1792-1806) and emperor of Austria (1804-1835) as Francis I. When Napoleon forced the dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire (1806), Francis renounced his title, ruled over the Austrian Empire, and helped defeat Napoleon (1813-1815).
