oroboros When I entered it I didn't even have any idea it was anything but a brand name, and only saw otherwise after a quickie google search. I hereby retract all Java reference and admit to voluminous ignosis regarding same. Jul 28, 2007
john Small nit to pick: ajax isn't a Java application, it's a set of JavaScript-based techniques to make web applications more responsive. Despite the similar names, Java and JavaScript have almost nothing to do with each other.
Given its current near-ubiquity in some circles, ajax is pretty young: Microsoft invented the underlying technology (xmlhttprequest) around 2000, but the techniques weren't widely used until Jesse James Garret wrote about them (and coined the term 'ajax') in 2005. Jul 28, 2007
oroboros A cleaning product, not just a Java application, or mythical Greek hero! Jul 28, 2007
