chained_bear Pro, do you know this guy? Is he your cousin, mayhap?
"Pachyrukhos was an early mammal that filled a niche similar to the one that modern-day rabbits inhabit. Pachyrukhos was about 1 foot (30 cm) long. It had large ears and eyes, a pointed snout, a short tail, short front limbs, and well-developed hind legs. It probably moved by hopping. This mammal was probably nocturnal (given its large eyes and ears). This herbivore (plant-eater) ate nuts and tough plant material. It lived from the late Oligocene to the middle Miocene. Fossils have been found in South America." (enchantedlearning.com) Aug 30, 2008
