uselessness Literally "for what" -- a contraction I've always found interesting. As another little madeupical etymological point, I suppose that this word is the evolved form of the longer phrase "por que razón," or "for what reason." Eventually the last word was dropped, and the first two merged into one. Sep 12, 2007
