- n. A long-legged breed of domestic pigeons, named from their characteristic habit of pouting, or puffing up the breast, sometimes to surprising size and almost globular shape. They occur in many different color-varieties. Pygmy pouters have the same form and habit, but are of very small size, like the bantams among chickens.
