  • n. Any of several small trees having leaves that are white and downy underneath.

  • n. A name assigned in some old books to the guelder-rose, Viburnum Opulus (also called snowball-tree), but properly belonging to the wayfaring-tree, V. Lantana, alluding to the white under surface of its leaves, and so used in large portions of England.
