dontcry What couch? Is John in therapy? He probably has latent wordie issues. I hope this kad can help him -- although, she seems confused about who she really is... Dec 7, 2009
reesetee Oh, I'm hoi polloi too, dontcry; no doubt about it. I'm just saying that kad...well, if she can ask John a question when he comes back to the couch (see below), you'd think she'd get a bit of preference. ;-) Dec 4, 2009
dontcry Wow... Kinda rough around the edges quaint-looking until you get to picture "04." Then it looks like a dump... Dec 3, 2009
mollusque Here's a profile of Bivalve.
Are you the same person as Kat? Dec 3, 2009
dontcry Haaaaay... Who you callin' hoi polloi? I'm takin' sum umbrage to that my friend! Dec 2, 2009
reesetee Yay! Hi kad! Geez, you'd think you'd have been given preference over the hoi polloi.... :-) Dec 2, 2009
uselessness Another familiar face! Dec 2, 2009
chained_bear Hi kad/kitinka! I'm glad I know you're the same person. :) Dec 2, 2009
dontcry Is there a pod in your backyard? ;-) Dec 2, 2009
kad I am kad, I've just been reborn as kitinka here on Wordnik. When John comes back to the couch I'll ask him why kitinka won out over kad in the Wordie-Wordnik shuffle.
Mollusque, there's a Bivalve, NJ? Dec 2, 2009
reesetee Kitinka, kad had a similar list, but she doesn't have a public profile, so I can't seem to track it down. Dec 2, 2009
mollusque What about Bivalve? Dec 2, 2009
aphonik I've always been amused by Egg Harbor. And I second Cheesequake. I lived for a number of years just off exit 17 of the GSP and I still giggle whenever I drive by the Cheesequake Rest Area. Dec 2, 2009

chained_bear Drumthwacket! Oct 13, 2007
reesetee Oh! Piscataway! Sep 18, 2007
reesetee I'm not even going to ask why the Scranton McDonald's was so memorable. ;-) Sep 18, 2007
trivet I remember the hilarity of driving through Pennsylvania and trying to pronounce the various towns we drove through. That and the Scranton McDonald's. Sep 17, 2007
reesetee And now mine is too. At least you're not trying to pronounce Schuylkill. ;-) Sep 17, 2007
kad Absolutely. I'm originally from Pittsburgh, not far from the Youghiogheny River. Unless I've been mispronouncing it my whole life, the first 'gh' is pronounced like a 'k': Yawk-i-gain-ee.
Off the top of my head, I can't think of another word with a gh that gets pronounced as a k...which means that the rest of my work day is shot as I try. Sep 17, 2007
reesetee No, but close--I'm in PA, which has its share of strange town names. :-) And I won't even mention any bridges. Sep 17, 2007
kad Thanks reesetee! Are you in the Garden State, too? Sep 17, 2007
reesetee Succasunna! Weehawken! Hopatcong! Sep 17, 2007
