  • slumry I remember hearing my mother say something dismissive about "a little crackerbox house." I wonder if it was a generic term for small, or if it had a more specific meaning, as a shotgun house. A cursory check yielded nothing so far. Jul 11, 2007

  • reesetee Interesting. If my college dorm room had had a second floor, it could have been a very skinny house. In fact, the rooms in that particular building--long and narrow, with high ceilings--were called crackerboxes. ;-) Jul 11, 2007
