Thanks marky ... I've made a ticket. That really bugs me, too.
-
still can't deep link to sections like 'related'! ugh. :/ should be VERY easy to fix.
this is the link provided when clicking the menu item 'relate' (notice it doesn't work here)
http://www.wordnik.com/words/write#related
here's the fix: http://www.wordnik.com/words/write#relate -
i still can't login on mobile. my profile login has been jacked up since the wordie transfer. something to do with my previous underscore name or something. really a pain.
-
cases are a mess i get suggested wrong cases ALL the time.. for instance:
http://www.wordnik.com/words/wolf%20Down -
One of the great things about wordnik imo is the freedom to add and list words at will, then when you see several definitions and references cited, there is more confidence in the factuality, similar to wikipedia in that way. Love it :-)
-
Hope that doesn't happen - I like the ability to capitalize at will. Anyway, now that I've found a place for feedback, I'm unable to delete a comment on my dashboard that was on a list I deleted. Please fix if possible. Thank you, wordnik, for all you do and being one of the lights of my life. :-)

too bad the cases aren't forced to lower on common words like wordie used to do, or that we can manually set this for adding large lists of words.
when i asked about this over a year ago i was given a response that there was a solid plan to handle cases. not really seeing it.
for now this is fine: http://www.wordnik.com/lists/color--red
but i'd rather these be in lower case.. especially the lists i'm currently adding.
i have to do the case conversion in open office first i guess. -
well make it! :P
-
hey marky! we don't have a way to disable Flickr right now ... sorry about that.
-
oh i remember, is it possible to disable the images loaded from flickr per user, i don't need them and it really slows the page load it seems to make those connections. the images are rarely relevant to the actual words or meanings anyways. google image search would even return more meaningful results.
-
ok i guess the word i was on didn't have any, well thesaurus.com has a larger library of synonyms and antonyms. anyway..
i completely lost my train of thought as to what i came here to say in the first place. -
marky we are showing antonyms -- see bad. Is there a specific word for which you were expecting to see antonyms?
-
i find it interesting there aren't antonyms listed on related! WOW!
-
ah man i thought i was going nuts. lol
oh i'll check the rhyming service later! thats cool! -
Bacon ipsum indeed. I generally use hipster ipsum but wanted to mix it up today.
-
*snort*
-
I think it was pig-Latin.
-
Was that Bacon Ipsum in your example, zeke?
-
Hey marky, tempted as I am to pretend that list deletion has been there all along and that you are in fact retarded, I'll tell you the truth: I just rolled it out today (and you're not retarded). Sorry for the inconvenience. Here's where you'll find it: http://cl.ly/DPgX
In other news, I ended up building that rhyming webservice you were asking for a while back. Check it out at http://arpabet.heroku.com/ -
ok am i retarded how come i can't figure out where to delete a list???
all my other probs r resolved. -
ugh unable to delete entire lists.
this one: http://www.wordnik.com/lists/color--orange
erin i sent u an email about my dashboard. -
I am unable to access the central portion of my comment on "tensor tympani" to revise it. Only the initial and terminal portions can be accessed.

-
I am unable to access my list entitled "Tall," and somehow it got duplicated.
-
Suddenly I am unable to comment on people's profiles (except this one?) so:
tonlon0017 is a runaway spammer! Out of control. -

Yeah on Dolphin 6 .. this is the only site that's completely unusable out of all the sites I use. I noticed that each link I hit asks to use 'which browser' like 2-3 times .. no other site does this. Is this a ruby fail? Ruby uses multiple processes .. its really not good. Take a hint from twitter and stop using ruby, they would be out of business if they kept using ruby on rails.
-
Cool idea.
Also, I am intrigued by your ideas and would favorite that list. :-) -
Exactly. If I want to list, say, the best foods I have ever eaten, and sort them by yumminess, right now I would have to create it off-site and then add the entries when the list is complete, or delete most entries every time I realize there is something I had forgotten.
Most photo websites now let you do this for photos. Why not words in Wordnik lists? -
Prolagus -- so explicit reordering (since the current orders are either "order added"or "alpha")?
-
I think an important feature would be to be able to move words within a list. Especially useful for "chart" lists etc.
-
Thanks biocon -- not sure how we missed that. I've added it to the List list. :-)
dharma66 -- can you point me to the spam? I'll banhammer 'em. -
The "move" facility, which is initiated by clicking a tab to the right of a word in a list has not functioned for almost a month now.
-
can we delete spam comments?
-
Hi folks, thanks for the feedback on the mobile site issues! We're looking into it.
-
On Dolphin HD for Honeycomb, the "save" button for comments won't appear (possibly unless you turn off the keyboard), which is a bit annoying.
-
the word pages are loading super sloooww for me (win7 chrome PC). also the site on my android doesn't work at all (regular or mobile).
PS the regular used to work on my android. most of my mobile lists don't load at all because they're too big. (it loads the first 3 words and locks up) -
thanks biocon ... we're looking into that problem! Until we get it fixed, I have found that if I just refresh the page, the comment is updated.
-
When I attempt to save a revised comment by clicking the "Save comment" tab, a strand consisting of a chain of dusky dots indicating that the save is in progress revolves interminably.
-
I have a list from Wordie which I can no longer access, how can I delete it? I did email and I suspect your reply went to my junk mail.
this is the link to my absent list which I have begun to recompose.
http://www.wordnik.com/lists/grocery-list -
When I have attempted to save revised comments on words today, I have clicked on the "Save" (comment) tab after which the chord or arc that shows the progress of the save moves (appears and disappears) interminably.
-
Thanks blafferty ... we'll check it out. (I think you're right and that it's a loading issue.)
-
The buttons at the top of the word pages are flaky. I'm sure everybody has noticed this, unless it's a browser issue. I click on "discuss" and it takes me down to comments, but then jumps back up and I have to click it again. Might be because the page has not completely loaded...?
-
Thanks biocon ... I'll keep trying to figure it out on our end.
-
It is not just a hiatus.
I have been unable to edit several comments on word pages, and when the editable comment is displayed on a separate screen, the "Save comment" does not function. -
biocon, it looks like there's a teeeeeny lag on the "save" button that makes it seem as if it's not saving. And the lag is longer with Firefox. I'll report it.
-
I've been using Firefox 5.0.
I'll try using Microsoft Explorer.
Thank you. -
Thanks biocon! I'm able to save/delete comments on "ruct" (and I'll go clean up those sentences). Can you let me know what browser you're using?
-
I am unable to modify comments of certain words such as "ruck" because clicking the "Save comments" tab is ineffectual.
-
None of the examples of the use of the word "ruct" is valid.

Sionnach, I'll make a support ticket for the list issue and forward it to John. We're in holiday mode, so things are moving slower than usual, so bear with us.
The link to OneLook is still there. Under the "Definitions" column on an entry's summary page, click on "elsewhere on the web" and you should see it in the list.
Of course, we are always looking to add more definitions at all times. I keep a "words not in" file, so if you come across anything you feel like we should have, by all means leave a note here or drop me a line at grant@wordnik.com and I'll add yours to mine and see if we can find a source that satisfies us both.

FYI, the pronunciation server was kicked.
Prolagus, there's a support ticket for your request, though I can't give you a timetable on a fix.

Prolagus, all of those weird examples are already on their way out of the database, fortunately, so there's no need to report them. Other issues are best reported here or to feedback@wordnik.com, where we're sure to see them.

Rolig, just wanted to let you know that there are indeed situations in which moving from certain parts of the site to other parts of the site logs you out. Engineers are working on it. The rest of us are putting wood on the fire.
