That spelling is pretty odd. I would tend to say the word was first used by someone else, as the date of first attestation isn't necessarily the first usage.

If you create something that is entirely new to you, could that not be called inventing even if—unbeknownst to you—someone else invented it already?Well, I didn't invent ridonkulous and nor do I claim to have done any such thing, which debunks that theory anyway.
