I think that the woman, that I "complemented" by saying she was very gorgoneion yesterday, WOULD balk with this somewhat softened word( over the more familiar , " douchebag").
Thanks for catching my mispelling the word opsimath. What could be compelling, when preaching the need to learn, then to mispell the key word. Thankfully, I was not instructing bungee jumping or snake charming
Thanks for expanding my horizens. "Argument of the stick"...........it's true, they never specified the type of stick. Also, in many systems of fauna, THAT is the stick that can really differentiate, as much as the horn or claw.
thanks for, " argumentum e silentio". Could it be another approach, as compared to " argumentum ad baculum"? Sort of like carrying a big stick, or showing a taciturn , less aggressive approach?
I recall a TV or Movie character using this, way back when, but I don't recall who it was. It seemed common enough that acquaintances would use it as well, imitating the character on the screen.What does it mean to me? Well, " gosh".............." wow"; an exclamation of surprise or amazement.
