chained_bear But why would the way that Bogart allowed a cigarette to dangle morph into the meaning of "hogging" something? Jan 14, 2008
nicotec (v): to hoard something or act selfishly. I.e. "Don't bogart that joint, friend." Originated in 60's drug culture as a way to describe someone who was "hogging" a joint - which is traditionally supposed to be passed around. Apparently arose from the way that Humphrey Bogart allows a cigarette to dangle from his lips. Jan 14, 2008
