Prolagus I think wordie per se should avoid videos, audio tracks and images; but it would be great to have more activity in video, audio, photo, and social networking websites.
I added two photos to our flickr group, by the way! Apr 21, 2008
npydyuan I too prefer just the words-n-banter. Oct 11, 2007
john Ok, gotcha. I'm just throwing out ideas here, no plans to actually do anything like this anytime soon.
Maybe more in the Wordie spirit would be allowing us to upload audio files, so people could demonstrate how to pronounce, for instance, pwn. This would be much more ignorable than images, for those who weren't interested. Oct 11, 2007
sionnach I'm with c_b on this. I'm just here for the words.
And the scintillating banter, of course. Oct 11, 2007

chained_bear Aw, I don't know. One of the things I really love about Wordie is its complete lack of, for example, YouTube clips and photos and ads and stuff, like *every* other website has. So... while I'd like other wordies to be pleased (like palooka)... the prospect makes me kinda sad. It's small-minded of me, perhaps, but hey, I'm being honest. Oct 11, 2007
palooka Being a photographer, I'd enjoy that John - the visual illustration of words. If implemented, you may need a huge amount of storage space/bandwidth, though you could limit the size of the graphic (which would be a good idea). Oct 11, 2007
reesetee Hmm. That's hard to answer, John. I'm still having too much fun with words and tags. :-) Oct 11, 2007
john A saucy photo recently posted on moist reminded me of the Wordie Flickr group, which has been pretty quiet lately. There are some great photos of words and text over there, check it out and add your own if it appeals. I just added one myself.
This reminds me that QToro has a great feature where you can easily grab creative-commons licensed photos from Yahoo and use them to illustrate questions. Would folks use a similar feature on Wordie, if I made it easy to use photos as illustrations/visual definitions for words? Oct 11, 2007
