asativum I once attended a luau in Alaska. It was held by authentic Samoans; they even wore skirts. But not many of those in attendance seemed to have Hawaiian shirts.
Maybe we should call them something else, given that Hawaiians apparently hate brightly colored garments with amusing pictoral patterns.
