  • From dusk to dawn,

    From town to town,

    Without a single clue,

I seek the tender, slender foot

    To fit this crystal shoe.

    From dusk to dawn,

    I try it on

    Each damsel that I meet.

And I still love her so, but oh,

    I've started hating feet.

  • thinking over the universal popularity of Cinderella (whatever her name happens to be in whatever language) makes me a little more misanthropic. there are so many stories that really talk about human nature, that teach and mystify, amuse and horrify, so many interesting stories...and this twaddling pile of uncomplicated wish-fulfilment is the favourite. FEH!
