rolig Here in Slovenia, sausage is almost always sold in pairs. See this picture of how our famous Carniolan sausage (kranjska klobasa, Krainerwurst) is packaged for sale. When you go to buy sausage at the deli, you usually say how many pairs (pari) you want. Jun 6, 2011

bilby Thanks molly. Twins I'll take although set seems more polite. Not sure what to do with bogoffer as it's the items being bogoffered that come in pairs, not the bogoffer itself. May 11, 2008
gangerh Amost anything found under bogoffer. Unfortunately I don't have a word for it. May 11, 2008
gangerh I was about to suggest twins but then wondered whether a pair of twins was quadruplets. May 11, 2008

reesetee I'll do my best. *making determined, brave face* Dec 7, 2007
bilby reesetee, you KNOW that the world NEEDS that list. We're counting on you. Dec 7, 2007
chained_bear don't forget the variations: der testikelmeister, and also die testikelmeisterin. Dec 6, 2007
reesetee Haha! This is the most fun I've had staring at my computer monitor in days! Bilby, I thank you for that little tidbit of possible blackmailery against chained_bear. Next time I'm tempted to start a "What is a Chained_Bear, Anyhow?" list, der Testiclemeister is right at the top. Dec 6, 2007
bilby Grossly mismatched neuticles.
When I said Big Pink Buffalo, please note that all of him was pink ;-) I have no idea where Lefty ended up. There's a website for Australian Big Things but they have no record of him. Dec 6, 2007

mollusque Bilby, are you saying Lefty was monorchid, or was it really just a matter of size? Dec 6, 2007

sionnach One imagines hordes of dyslexic tourists stumbling around this list, desperately searching for the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and other famous landmarks. Dec 6, 2007
sionnach While the right honorable member's comments about the rampant asymmetry of paired organs found in nature are well taken, perhaps the point is being missed that neuticles are paired and symmetric by design.
However, far be it from me to push the limits of wordie decorum. Fido's fake balls will just have to take up residence on some other list. Dec 6, 2007
bilby It did? Poo-bum. Dec 6, 2007
chained_bear Uh... I think it just did, bilby! :)
Also, THANK YOU for calling little ol' me "der Testiclemeister." I'm going to go crow about this to my significant other. Dec 6, 2007
bilby As I am being admonished by der Testiclemeister, the only thing that comes to mind is that I once wrote a lyric for a children's song which went:
"Put some dingle in your dongle,
you'll feel a tongly tingle if you do."
I'm glad that one never saw the light of day. Dec 6, 2007
chained_bear Spectacles? Trousers? Breeches? Pantaloons? I guess I'm cheating since they're mostly synonyms of the terms you've already listed.
P.S. I, too, thank the Member for Danglies for his question--however, I would like to point out that listing steps as being frequently "found in pairs" while declining to add testicles, which are indeed most frequently found in pairs seems a bit... well... is sour grapes too strong a term? ;) Dec 6, 2007
bilby I thank the Member for Danglies for his question.
Mr Speaker, what I had in mind for this list were those things that must be referred to as being in pairs. While it is well and good - especially for people with split personalities - that body parts are often duplicated, they do not necessarily meet all the statutory requirements.
I table before the House the case of The Big Pink Buffalo. Australia is the kind of place, as the Honourable Members probably recognise, the kind of place indeed where, if your business or in fact town is about to go base over apex, you should build something big in order to gain a bit of attention. And so it was that a struggling car yard in Darwin commissioned a Very Large sculpture of a buffalo and plonked it in the middle of their forecourt among the many sad sedans. Now the Big Buff did indeed attract some attention, though it was soon observed that his, er, attributes, were of differing proportions. Whatever it was that he had dangling between his legs, they were not in fact in a pair. I therefore seek the leave of the House, in the interests of decorum in this noble Wordiemocracy, to take all further questions on notice.
p.s. The buffalo's name was ... Lefty. Dec 6, 2007
sionnach Um, neuticles? Ahem. Dec 6, 2007
