bilby It's a list as neglected as my exercise routine. Apr 17, 2009
strev pumping iron I would have thought this would have been the first Apr 17, 2009
chained_bear A lot of Americans (in my experience) think "ta" means "bye," so I thought I'd mention it... Jan 30, 2009
Prolagus Well, I did not know it! "Ta"! Jan 30, 2009
chained_bear Also, "Ta" means thanks (in case anyone didn't know), so perhaps it's not as terse as initially thought...? Stick around, vortexlip! Jan 29, 2009
reesetee I'm certain you're not the first, and equally certain of the second. :-) Jan 29, 2009
vortexlip thanks so much for saying that.
i might be dumb, but i mean no harm :)

reesetee Welcome, vortexlip! No harm meant--hope you'll stay. Wordie regulars hail from points worldwide, and although a phrase like "half a deck" might be common here, I suspect it's unheard of where bilby lives, so there was a confused moment there.
Good of you to jump right in. Please continue to do so. :-) And enjoy! Jan 29, 2009
vortexlip No, I just joined this site yesterday, actually. I read the FAQ, traversed the posts for a few hours, and did my stumbling best to join in.
Thankfully that terse dismissal brought me down to size.

reesetee I don't either, but maybe vortexlip didn't catch that and assumed that you were collecting "working with" phrases? Jan 29, 2009
bilby Ta. I don't see the connection with exercise. Jan 29, 2009
reesetee Half a deck of playing cards, I believe. "Working with half a deck" usually means that someone is either a bit out there or doesn't have all the facts. Jan 29, 2009
bilby What is it? When I searched for half a deck the results were 'A deck is a permanent covering over a compartment or a hull of a ship' and so on. Jan 29, 2009
