sobriquet I was inclined to agree with you at first, but I realized that they would be more appropriate in another list, such as "Tolkien's creatures". Dwarrows are no more a real part of our language than ents, even though both originated with an (archaic) English word. Aug 22, 2009
vanishedone I wonder whether dwarrows belongs here, Tolkien having termed it the 'real 'historical' plural of dwarf: 'It should be dwarrows (or dwerrows), if singular and plural had each gone its own way down the years, as have man and men, or goose and geese.'
