hernesheir Bork, swiftboat, astroturf, booger. Feb 10, 2010
racehead I heart this list.
What about the room nouns that are meeting verbs such as table, chair and floor? Feb 10, 2010
nycanthro Great list! I've got "up, near, shadow, case and scumbag" on mine. Feb 28, 2009
sarra waffle isn't actually verbed; it comes from a different root! Feb 9, 2008
valse My English professor used the verb other a few times today--capitalized actually. It's more or less supposed to mean "to treat a group of people, often a minority group, as inferior." Also, exoticize, which is sorta jargon-y, but fun to say. Feb 28, 2007
notanotherjazzpoet It would be interesting to try and discern which of these were nouns first and which verbs . . . without cheating and using a history of etymology, of course. Feb 9, 2007
notanotherjazzpoet I'm guessing "to office" speaks to a populace unfamiliar with Wordie and disinclined to be familiar should they somehow make its acquaintance.
Also, I'm a huge Bucky fan.
And finally, excellent Calvin & Hobbes quote! I've quite enjoyed the splashes of them lighting up the recent comments and citations feature. Feb 9, 2007
trivet "Verbing weirds language." Calvin, Calvin and Hobbes Feb 9, 2007
abraxaszugzwang Bucky Katt! Feb 9, 2007
chained_bear I wonder, too! I guess you have to ask (or is that aks?) the people who wrote the ad campaign for Office Depot. "A new way to office." EEEEEEE, it makes my skin crawl... Feb 9, 2007
notanotherjazzpoet Thanks cb. I am curious how one does office though...

chained_bear Oh, gosh, n.a.j.p., I would never presume to tell you what to do with your list. You add what you want, and don't add what you don't want. I think it's nifty and favorited it (speaking of "verbing"), and it'll still be nifty even if there are un-favorites on it. :) Happy listing! Feb 9, 2007
notanotherjazzpoet So, are we voting that the un-favorites be added, or not? I certainly don't want to go grating on anyone's...er, eyes I suppose. Feb 9, 2007
chained_bear My un-favorite is office. But this is a great list! Feb 9, 2007
reesetee My (un)favorites: parent and party. Feb 8, 2007
