  • reesetee You could pretend you're taking a call and say, loudly, "Excuse me for one moment" into the phone, and then, with a horrified look on your face, run over to the Loudlys and say, "Please, please! I have an important client/author/customer/giver of great gobs of money on the phone!"

    Just sayin'.

  • chained_bear Dude! Dude! I am totally right next to the water cooler and the photocopier!

    But still, people just arriving at work, dragging their little rollie-briefcases behind them (come on, do they really do that much work at home at night? Please.) always seem to stop on their way to their offices and shout in front of my cubicle. (I.e., it is not because they are hanging out at the water cooler, which would stop traffic completely in the narrow hallway.) Jun 2, 2009

  • reesetee I'm a few days late, c_b, but I sympathize. I have the misfortune of being positioned near a water cooler in a hallway on one side and shouting salespeople (from one office to another) on the other side.

  • chained_bear I need to vent and this is the only place I can think of to do it safely. Why, oh WHY, when people arrive at work, do they feel it's appropriate to stand twelve or fifteen feet apart in the hallways and SHOUT AT EACH OTHER for ten minutes?! If you want to have a hallway conversation, do it quietly, or else get the f*** away from the people who are trying to do work.

    Or at least, to check their email and post shit on Wordie.
